Entrepreneurship Seminar Road To IB FEST 7.0

On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, the Student Association of the Islamic Banking Study Program (HMPS - PS) FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga held an Entrepreneurship Seminar with the theme “Responding to Global Challenges: Career Opportunities for Islamic Banking Graduates.” The event took place offline at the Theatrical Hall of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The IB Fest 7.0 committee invited Mr. Fitrawan Rinaldi Pratama SE., ME., a practitioner of Islamic banking, and Ms. Nafila Nur Amza S.E., an entrepreneur, both of whom are alumni of the Islamic Banking Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as speakers. Additionally, Vice Dean 3 Dr. Ahmad Salehudin S.Th.I., M.A, and the Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program Dr. Ruspita Rani Pertiwi S.Psi., M.M, along with Islamic banking lecturers Mr. Alex Farurriza S.E., M.Sc and Ms. Syayyidah Maftuhatul Jannah S.E., M.Sc, were also in attendance.

This seminar is a collaboration between the Research and Development Division’s work program and the Entrepreneur and Public Relations of HMPS PS, as part of the series of IB Fest 7.0 agendas. The seminar aimed to explore career opportunities for Islamic banking graduates, with the goal of fostering an understanding of future job prospects in response to global challenges. The participants were Islamic banking students, including members of HMPS PS and the IB Fest 7.0 committee.

The event commenced with an opening led by the master of ceremonies, Ms. Alya Maulina. The first welcome address was delivered by the chairman of IB Fest 7.0, followed by the Head of the Study Program, and concluded with a welcome from Vice Dean 3, who also opened the event. The program then proceeded with the presentation of the material moderated by Miftahul Jannah Putri Maulidia. Mr. Fitrawan initiated the presentations with the theme “Talent Management,” focusing on the realm of banking, particularly Islamic banking, and providing tips to the millennial generation on preparing for their future careers. He stated that in the current era of rapid technological advancement, often referred to as industry 5.0, it is essential to complement technological proficiency with a diverse skill set, including problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, excellent, and a variety of other valuable abilities.

Next, the second speaker, Ms. Nafila, delved into the topic of “Entrepreneurship,” covering aspects such as initiating a business, sustaining its operations, and ensuring its continuity. She emphasized that embarking on a career in entrepreneurship necessitates a strong resolve, a diligent work ethic, and the courage to take the first step. Ms. Nafila likened the journey of entrepreneurship to a race, highlighting the importance of focus and perseverance for achieving success. Furthermore, she offered insights into establishing a sustainable business, stressing the significance of market segmentation, quality control, competitor analysis, and other essential factors. The speaker underscored the need for patience and persistence, emphasizing that every endeavor requires a process.

Following the conclusion of the presentation, a question and answer session, facilitated by the moderator, ensued. The participants exhibited great enthusiasm and engagement throughout the seminar event. It is hoped that this entrepreneurship seminar will furnish the participants with valuable insights and motivation to confront future professional challenges.
