Lecturers of Islamic Banking Study Program FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Conduct Benchmarking at the University of Indonesia and Visit BSI and BRIN

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 3:23:38 PM WIB, Lecturers from the Islamic Banking Study Program, FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga conducted benchmarking activities with the IUP FEB Program at the University of Indonesia (UI). The lecturers from the Islamic Banking Study Program, FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga were welcomed by the Head of the Islamic Economics Undergraduate Program at FEB UI, Tika Arundina Aswin, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., along with representatives of FEB UI lecturers and staff from the FEB UI International Special Class.

During the visit, Tika Arundina Aswin and the FEB UI International Special Class team elaborated on the admission process and educational structure within the International Special Class, including single and double degree programs. They also discussed collaborative initiatives with several international universities to facilitate the attainment of double degrees, each with its own set of prerequisites. This information piqued the interest of the delegation from the Islamic Banking Study Program, FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as they expressed a desire to enhance student engagement in the International Special Class program at their university.

Following their visit to FEB UI, the lecturers from the Islamic Banking Study Program proceeded on the same day to BSI (Bank Syariah Indonesia). There, they were warmly welcomed by Mr. Wijayanto Wongsodipuro, Grup Head (Digital Banking & E Channel Operations Grup) BSI, Taufiq Machrus from BSI Corporate University, and their team. Mr. Wijayanto expressed a keen interest in collaborating with the academic community, particularly the Islamic Banking Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. He underscored the positive influence of universities on the Islamic banking industry and stressed the importance of fostering even stronger partnerships. Collaboration models at BSI encompass general banking, thematic, and special projects. Additionally, students are presented with diverse internship opportunities, including in IT, wholesale, law, international banking, compliance, and other areas.

On Friday, November 24, 2023, the lecturers from Islamic Banking Study Program proceeded their visit to BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency). They were welcomed by Mrs. Yanuar Farida Wismayanti, Ph.D., Head of the Research Center for Public Policy at BRIN, and her team. BRIN expressed openness to engage in collaborative research with the academic community, particularly the Islamic Banking Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This collaboration could encompass the fields of marketing, human resources, and finance. Furthermore, BRIN offers internship opportunities for students through various patterns, including internships funded by BRIN or the proposing campus.

In 2023, BRIN initiated the Managerial Skills Learning Internship Program (MBKM) in collaboration with several campuses across Indonesia. It is hoped that FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga can partake in this program in the upcoming year or subsequent periods, thereby offering valuable internship opportunities for its students.
