The Badminton Tournament IB Fest 7.0, taking place for 2 days on August 29 and 30, 2023, from 09:00 to 15:30 at the Gowok Badminton Building, was one of the series of events from the Islamic Banking Festival 7.0 (IB Fest 7.0). The tournament was attended by 19 men’s doubles teams and 6 women’s doubles teams from various study programs within UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This year marked the inaugural Badminton Tournament as part of the IB Fest competition. It is no surprise that there was significant enthusiasm, evident from the diverse participants across academic years, spanning from 2019 to 2022 intakes. Even master’s students were eager to join and enliven this badminton tournament.

Nineteen men’s doubles teams and six women’s doubles teams vied for the top three spots. The first-place team would be awarded a trophy, coaching funds, and a certificate. The second and third-place teams would also receive trophies and certificates, along with varying amounts of coaching funds.

In pursuit of these prestigious awards, each team had to strive and compete, with teamwork playing a crucial role. The Islamic Banking 7.0 badminton tournament embraced the theme “By Playing Badminton Harmoniously, We Build a Better UIN Sunan Kalijaga Community,” and as a result, the matches, including the semifinals, championship matches, and finals, proceeded in a safe, orderly, and conducive manner over the first and second days. Any minor conflicts that arose during the matches were understandable, but nothing undesirable occurred. Ultimately, all participants recognized that on the court, they were opponents, but off the court, they were all friends.

The winners of the men’s team were: 1st Place: Aminandra-Filah from the PGMI program, 2nd Place: Dimas Edo-Jawhar Ali from the PM program, 3rd Place: Igo-Sheva from the KPI program. Meanwhile, the winners of the women’s team were: 1st Place: Irma-Widya from the PS program, 2nd Place: Yulis-Asikin from the SKI program, 3rd Place: Farida-Fadila from the PGMI program. Following the conclusion of the matches, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as the top scorer, were presented with trophies and certificates. With this ceremony, the series of events of Badminton Tournament IB Fest 7.0 came to a close.
