FUTSAL TOURNAMENT IB FEST 6.0

The Futsal Tournament IB Fest 6.0, held on September 3 and 4, 2022 at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga sports hall, was a part of the Islamic Banking Festival 6.0, also known as IB Fest 6.0. This futsal tournament was participated by 18 teams from various study programs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. As this was the first futsal tournament held at UIN Sunan Kalijaga after the even semester break of 2021/2022, it is no surprise that there was significant enthusiasm. This was evident from the diverse participants from various academic years, ranging from 2018 to the newly enrolled 2022 students, all eager to enliven and take part in this futsal tournament.

Among the 18 participants, they competed for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the teams, as well as individual awards for the best player and top scorer. The 1st place team would receive a trophy, coaching funds, and a certificate of appreciation. The 2nd and 3rd place teams would also receive similar rewards, with only the coaching funds differing in amount. The best player and top scorer would each receive a certificate of appreciation and coaching funds.

To attain these various awards, each team had to strive and compete while upholding sportsmanship. Since this futsal tournament had the slogan “Elevating our game, prioritizing sportsmanship,” it is no surprise that the matches on the first day proceeded safely, orderly, and peacefully. Any minor friction during the matches might be expected, but nothing undesirable occurred. Fundamentally, all participants understood that on the field, they were opponents, but off the field, they remained friends.

During the opening ceremony on the first day, the Vice Dean 3, Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.Th.I., M.A, delivered a speech. First, he emphasized that futsal is a competition, essentially a managed conflict, resulting in a champion as the best manifestation. Second, futsal is a system of teamwork. Each player must synergize and collaborate with others. Third, all parties, part the players, must abide by the agreed-upon rules. Following his speech, he also symbolically opened the event by kicking the ball into the goal, marking the official commencement of the futsal tournament.

The matches on the first day proceeded smoothly. The second day proceeded with the semifinals, the battle for third place, and the final match.

After a series of matches, El-Musnid from the Hadith Studies program emerged as the champion. In the final, El-Musnid defeated Shafim A from the Islamic Financial Management program with a score of 2-0. Following the matches, the trophies and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as the top scorer and best player. With this award ceremony, the series of events for the Futsal Tournament IB Fest 6.0 came to a close.
