Yogyakarta, September 1, 2023 – The Islamic Banking Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta demonstrated its commitment to educational advancement by holding a Workshop on the Preparation of Semester Learning Plans (RPS) based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This two-day event, held from August 31 to September 1, 2023, at Asram Edupark, featured presentations from two knowledgeable speakers who shared insights on enhancing educational quality through Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

The first speaker, Dr. Epha Diana Supandi, S.Si., M.Sc., Head of Academic Quality Development at the Institute for Development and Enhancement (LPM) UIN Sunan Kalijaga, as well as a lecturer at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, delivered a comprehensive session on crafting RPS based on OBE. With a remarkable background in designing a curriculum prioritizing competencies and learning outcomes, Dr. Epha Diana Supandi elucidated the principles of OBE and illustrated their practical application in RPS preparation through real-life examples.

The second speaker, Prof. Setyabudi Indartono, Ph.D., a distinguished academic and Vice Dean I - Academic Affairs of FEBI Yogyakarta State University (UNY), shared UNY’s journey in integrating OBE into its educational framework. Leveraging his extensive academic expertise, Prof. Setyabudi offered valuable perspectives on the significance of adaptation and innovation in higher education.

This workshop was held in preparation of the commencement of the Odd Semester 2023/2024. The event was attended by the lecturers from the Islamic Banking Study Program UIN Sunan Kalijaga, providing them with a platform to explore the intricacies of OBE and its integration into RPS preparation. The enthusiastic involvement of the participants in the interactive discussions and group workshops significantly enriched their understanding and practical knowledge, equipping them to face the challenges of preparing more contextual RPS.

The Vice Dean 1 of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA., expressed his gratitude for the successful implementation of this event. “We are committed to continuously improving the quality of education, and this workshop is an important step in implementing an innovative OBE approach in the learning process of the Islamic Banking Study Program,” he said. The Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr. Ruspita Rani Pertiwi, S.Psi, M.M., stated, “This workshop is a concrete step in continuously improving the quality of learning in the Islamic Banking Study Program.”

Through this workshop, it is hoped that the lecturers will be better equipped and more proficient in creating effective RPS, in accordance with the principles of OBE, to ensure that students can attain optimal learning outcomes that align with the ever-changing demands of the job market.
