ACCELERATING ACADEMIC JOURNALS: Workshop on Improving the Quality of Islamic Banking Study Program Journals at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga

Yogyakarta, June 7, 2023 - The Islamic Banking Study Program FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a workshop under the theme “Academic Journal Acceleration” on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB. This workshop aims to improve the quality of the study program’s journal and deliberate on strategies of the journals for obtaining accreditation. The workshop took place in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor of the FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga building. The event was attended by 15 participants, consisting of lecturers and researchers from the Islamic Banking Study Program.

The workshop’s first speaker was Alien Akmalia, S.E., M.Sc., from the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. She delivered a presentation on the theme “Readiness of Article Substance in Preparation for Journal Accreditation.” The speaker provided valuable insights and guidance to participants regarding the criteria for article substance necessary to attain journal accreditation. The session was moderated by Farid Hidayat, S.H., M.S.I., ensuring the smooth progression of the discussion and interaction between the speaker and participants, and guided the discussion to achieve optimal results.

The second speaker, Ahmad Syafi’i from the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Journal House, addressed the theme “Readiness of Standards and Website Management (Journal Technical) for National Journal Accreditation Registration.” Ahmad Syafi’i offered practical guidance on journal standards, website management, and the process of registering for national journal accreditation. Fitri Zaelina, S.E.I., M.E.K., moderated the session, ensuring its smooth operation and providing participants with the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification.

Through this workshop, the Islamic Banking Study Program aims to enhance the comprehension and expertise of lecturers and researchers in the preparation and management of academic journals. Additionally, the workshop seeks to stimulate an enhancement in journal quality, ultimately leading to improved accreditation.
