The theme for this year’s IB Festival is “Promoting the Halal Lifestyle Trend for a Better Millennial Generation through Islamic Banking.” The festival’s activities commenced with a logo competition, proceeded with a national essay competition, and culminated with a national webinar and an online religious study event.
The IB Festival webinar was held on November 14 and 16, 2020. A noteworthy aspect of this webinar is its collaboration between the HMPS Islamic Banking and the lecturers of the Islamic Banking Study Program. The target participants for this national webinar included not only students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta but also students from across the country, facilitated through the Zoom meeting platform due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
The webinar featured notable speakers. The event commenced with a recitation of the Quran and the rendition of the national anthem and the Hymn of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. It was then followed by a speech from the chairman of the IB Festival 2020 committee, Muhammad Hanif Ibrahim, outlining the series of events in the Islamic Banking Festival.
Subsequently, the Deputy Head of the Islamic Banking Study Program, Mr. Jauhar Faradis, S.H.I., M.A., delivered a speech discussing the committee’s efforts to optimize the webinar series amidst the ongoing pandemic situation. This was followed by a speech from the Vice Dean III, Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.Th.I., M.A., who officially opened the series of the Islamic Banking Festival webinar.
The event was moderated by Ms. Fitri Zaelina, S.E.I., M.E.K., a lecturer of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The presentations were delivered by three speakers. Dr. Sutan Emir Hidayat, SP., MBA. (KNEKS), the first speaker, addressed the Optimization of Halal Lifestyle Product Development in the Field of Sharia Economics and Finance. Following this, Dr. (Cand) Siti Nur Azizah, a lecturer at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, presented on Strengthening SMEs in Supporting the Halal Industry. The third speaker, Eka Jati R. Firmansyah, S.H.I., M.E.I. (PT. Bank BRI Syariah Tbk. KC Kenari A), addressed the Role of Islamic Banking in Developing the Halal Lifestyle Trend in the Modern Era.
Before the conclusion of the IB Festival, the MC announced the winner of the National Essay Competition, won by a student from PKN STAN.
